Our 5th Wedding Anniversary

Terrence and I met as sophomores in high school, 8 years ago. We became best friends and before long we both realized we were in love. Back then, we had so many people tell us it was puppy love and it wouldn't last. Now, I am not one wanting to be considered a typical Emery County couple statistic, but there was no denying that what we had then was as real as what we have now. The only difference is that our love has grown and matured. Five years ago, Terrence and I went to the Manti temple to be sealed for time and eternity, and now we have two beautiful little girls and a love that can withstand anything. I am so proud to call him my husband, and love him more than anything! I can't wait to celebrate 5 years of marraige with him, and I can't wait to celebrate our anniversary for the rest of our lives.

Temple pictures

Freezing cold, teeth chattering.
"Mom, are you kidding me? I'm not going to smile!
I am f-f-freezing!"
"Finally happy in the sun"
She kept trying to pick the stamen's out of the flowers
I love tulips. What a nice day to take pictures!

I've been wanting to take some pictures of the girls at the Logan temple with all of the pretty tulips. It has been so rainy, and I am so impatient that I finally just went last week...thinking that pictures with an umbrella would be adorable. Well...as it turns out, it was breezy, freezing, and raining the whole time. The girls cried and begged me to go home the whole time, so that didn't work out very well. Finally.....today was a nice day, so we went back to the temple and despite their impatience, I did manage to get a few cute pictures. :)

Terrence brought home some really big sheets of cardboard from work last week for the girls to play with. So, we decided to trace Kylie onto one of them and let her color herself some clothes, and facial features. She was so ticklish that I kind of had to do a free hand drawing because every time I moved the marker she would squirm in laughter. So, here is our amazing art work. I know...we should go into business. haha! Once Maddi woke up from her nap, she wanted to join in the fun. So...she scribbled some and then went right to the marker eating. She really liked the red and brown together. It makes for some really great lip gloss.
I was making dinner last week, when Maddi marches into the kitchen with a purpose. She tears open the tupperware cupboard and starts throwing all of my bowls out. Kylie saw Maddi's little game and decided that Maddi wasn't really making a mess, she was actually preparing a delicious fruit salad picnic. So, Kylie spread out a blanket and carried all the "salad" into the front room. Pretty soon, Buzz lighyear was there and it was a real party. I figure, it kept them quite while I cooked and they made a minimal mess, so what the heck? It made for some cute pictures.

School vs. Play

Terrence has been so busy lately. He is taking two classes condensed into 4 weeks, so he is NEVER home. We try to embrace this new schedule by doing things like meeting him in the park for lunch. He also rides his bike the two blocks home from work during his dinner break. The second he walks in the door, the girls are at his side and don't leave him alone. He can't even go to the bathroom with out them banging on the door. We miss the man in our lives and can't wait to have him back!

My crazy sleep-deprived week

It all started with my great idea of getting a job to take some of the stress off of Terrence as he's doing school and work full-time right now. AHHH! I started a paper route bright and early on Thursday morning at 4:30 a.m. and I am having a difficult time going to bed at night. I am used to taking FULL advantage of my "me time" and always end up going to bed between midnight and 1:00a.m. because I wait for Terrence to get home at 11:15 and then have to lull him to sleep with the quiet endless details of my day. So...needless to say....I am EXHAUSTED! Terrence has school Monday thru Friday and leaves in the morning at 9:30 and comes home at 2:30 for 15 minutes (just enough time to get dressed for work) and then comes home from work at 11:15 at night. WHAT A WEEK! He is even working overtime tonight.
This morning, we went to buy Terrence some new jeans and had Maddi in the umbrella stroller which Kylie insisted on pushing. She has been such a helpful sister lately and so nice. Well, she decided to push Maddi around the racks of clothes at a full run to make Maddi laugh. Terrence and I immediately turned around to tell her to please stop running with her when BAM! One of the wheels runs into a rack and over goes the stroller. Maddi fell face first onto the ground. I ran over to pick her up and she passed out in my arms. Her eyes rolled back, body went stiff, and she stopped breathing for what seemed to be a couple minutes, but I'm sure it was only a matter of 15-20 seconds. Then she was completely lethargic and unresponsive. I was struggling to hold back the tears as I hurried out of the store. Luckily it wasn't her head that she hit. She just had the wind knocked out of her, but it was possibly one of the most frightening experiences I've ever had as a mom. Poor Kylie was in tears saying "Mommy I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Did she die?" It about broke my heart. And since that incident this morning, she follows Maddi around making sure she doesn't fall down or run too fast or do anything even slightly risky because Kylie doesn't want her to get hurt. She said "Mommy I will protect Maddi so she won't get hurt never again!" I love these girls. I hate that pit of the stomach feeling when they are hurt or sick and you feel so helpless. I hope they will always know they have a Mommy and Daddy that love them very much and will "protect" them from all that we can!

Mothers Day 2008

This Mothers Day was so much fun. It's crazy to think that 5 years ago, I was 5 months pregnant with Kylie. Terrence felt her move for the first time on Mothers Day during sacrament meeting. Then, three years later, I found out I was pregnant with Madison the day before Mothers Day. Well, luckily I'm not pregnant this year, but it was a fun day none the less. After church we went up Logan canyon to roast hot dogs and s'mores. The girls were so much fun to watch with their little personalities. They kept eating and eating the s'mores and before we knew it...we realized they had had TOO MANY!!! That night, Kylie woke me up at 2 :00a.m. to tell me Maddi had thrown up all over her crib. It was not a fun mess to clean up in the middle of the night. I guess next time we'll monitor the s'mores eating. WHOOPS?!

Terrence and the girls surprised me with
flowers on Saturday morning.
